For decades, silver products have been marketed as a medicinal agent for use primarily as a disinfectant. In fact, patents on silver products have existed since the early 1920s. However, time has shown that there were some risks with using silver products, notably toxicity at unhealthy levels. Over the years, these products – often called “colloidal silver” – have provided some benefits for consumers, but always with some risk.
